The Drammen region is centrally located in Eastern Norway, approx. 40 km southwest of Oslo. The region has approx. 170,000 residents on 1,500 km2.
The region includes the municipalities of Hurum, Røyken, Lier, Drammen, Nedre Eiker, Øvre Eiker, Sande and Svelvik. Drammen is the largest city, with approx. 70,000 inhabitants. Other cities are Hokksund and Svelvik.
The region has 286 kilometres river- and waterfronts, large areas with forests and fields, and a well developed network of footpaths and trails.
